Meet One Of The Faces Behind Next Wave

I’m Jacey Godfrey, a proud promoter of the marketing firm Next Wave.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

After college, my resume lacked experience, like most, so I decided to stretch my comfort zone and relocate to Maryland in search of a new opportunity. After spending a majority of my career at this point in restaurants I knew that was not the path for me. I wanted professional experience and was looking for a job that offered growth and opportunity.

My first impression of the company lived up to expectations, as there was a welcoming feel to the place and the team seemed motivated.

It was definitely a challenge at first, and if we’re being honest there are still challenges to this day. The one thing that kept me going was the support.

Since joining the business five years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to work in three different states and climb the corporate ladder. I recently opened a new branch in Newark, Delaware, in June 2021.

I’ve noticed in this business, there is always something new to learn as the industry is continuously evolving. Working with large clients has challenged me to become more efficient and adapt to customers’ changing tastes and preferences.

Therefore, I listen carefully, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my honesty and integrity. My philosophy is that you always get out what you put in, so I promote positivity and seamless teamwork.

I encourage my team to grow personally and professionally by always striving to do things better. When individuals can create that “aha moment” and are surprised at their own capabilities, I know I have succeeded.

I try to inspire them by taking accountability for my own actions and doing what needs to be done when it needs to get done rather than putting things off for a later date.

I also attribute my success to my ability to network. I feel it’s imperative to seek advice and surround myself with people who are better than me in specific areas, which helps me survive and flourish.

Opening back up post-pandemic and having a fresh start to rebuild proved to be a blessing in disguise. It’s enabled me to take over the Delaware market and partner up with a powerhouse client, which has been immensely satisfying.

By far, the most rewarding part of running my business is providing attractive opportunities. It makes me proud to give a graduate their first real job or set someone up to launch a new office.

When I’m not mentoring my team, cooking has always been my passion, so I enjoy throwing down in the kitchen or going on outdoor adventures with my dog Primo. Being from upstate New York, I love to Snowboard in the winter and spend time on the Lake in the summer.
